Support New Zealand’s entry to RISE global sustainability awards

Delta Waterways, a start-up founded by University of Auckland and Auckland University of Technology students, is representing New Zealand on the global stage for the Real Impact on Society and Environment (RISE) showcase and awards. RISE is an initiative by Universitas 21 (U21), a unique global network that brings together 28 world-leading, research-intensive universities 

Delta Waterways uses high-resolution satellite data and sophisticated data analysis techniques to monitor waterways. Their goal is to launch waterway monitoring into a new era of cutting-edge technology which empowers positive change. 

The founding team comprises Brendan Bell, Ander Castelltort, Morgan Dolfing, James Lear, Matt Moran and Hannah Wetzel. Their concept has been recognised through various awards including winning second place in the New Zealand Geospatial Hackathon, winning the New Ventures category of the University of Auckland’s Velocity $100k Challenge and winning first place in Auckland University of Technology’s X Challenge Innovation Challenge.
