Velocity $100k Mentors
Velocity is the University of Auckland’s flagship entrepreneurship development programme. The Velocity $100k Challenge is it’s infamous business planning competition. Participants develop an idea for a venture, form a team, build a business case and pitch for an opportunity to get the resources to help you bring your idea to life, including a share of a prize package valued at over $100,000!
We have a range of mentors available to assist. 25 minute sessions are available from the 14th of July till the 25th of July between 11am and 1pm – book your conversations below.
Debra draws on her experience as an engineer in the mining industry, a strategic marketing consultant, a business owner and exited entrepreneur to deliver clarity of thinking and strategic direction to the governance and advisory boards on which she sits. In addition to her board work, she mentors young entrepreneurs, trains aspiring directors of early stage companies, and invests in start-up businesses in the high growth / technology space supporting the growth of NZ Inc.
Neil has significant experience in leading IT revitalisation and digital transformation. Specialties include change, innovation, digital transformation, architecture leadership, disruptive technology, prototyping, design thinking and agile based delivery, new opportunities and idea development

Wayne is an experienced CEO and Director with expertise in Strategy, R&D, Global marketing and manufacturing. He has primarily operated in the Primary sector and pharmaceutical fields. He is particularly interested now in creating sustainable businesses based on business fundamentals with strong risk analysis. He has mentored Challenge candidates for many years with good success and looks forward to this year’s applicants.
