About Solve It with 5G
Solve It with 5G is the innovation sprint that gets you to think, ideate and create solutions to tackle some of New Zealand’s toughest sustainability problems. Develop ideas to use technology to make the world a better place, with opportunities to gain friends, professional contacts and cash prizes. Prize pool of $8,000!
You’ll be put into teams to solve a sustainability problem posed by our Solve It industry partners:
- Auckland Transport
- Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency
In teams you will work on one of the assigned problems:
- How might we redevelop our road network to adapt to climate change, making it people-centric?
- How might we design more sustainable public transport facilities as we transition to lower carbon transportation?
- How might we better design urban growth to be more sustainable?
Each partner will give a brief insight into the challenge, then you will work in teams to form ideas for solutions to the problem posed utilising 5G technology. All participants will be given an introduction to 5G technology to understand its capability and potential application.
No prior experience with 5G technology, innovation, entrepreneurship or business is required. You will have the opportunity to learn about the basics of 5G and experiment with 5G enabled technology at the University’s new Te Ahi Hangarau technology hub, created with support from Vodafone.
