Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship staff win Business School Staff Excellence Awards
We congratulate Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Director Wendy Kerr and Programme Adviser Judith Marecek who were recognised for their significant achievements at the 2017 Business School Staff Excellence Awards.
Candidates for the awards go through a rigorous nomination process which involves a submission of 800 words describing the work undertaken by the individuals or team and how these link to the University of Auckland’s strategic objectives and goals. Nominations must include specific examples and illustrate how these align with the University Leadership framework. Choosing the category winners from so many talented nominees was a huge challenge for the selection committee and we are delighted Wendy and Judith were both selected.
Wendy received an award for Excellence in Leadership.
“Creating and sustaining a new vision for any organisation requires courage, passion, strength of will and creativity. Wendy is an exemplary role model who models these attributes on a daily basis, plus more. Writing a new strategy, creating a new iconic space, building a new team and ensuring every member of that team buys into the vision and understands the role they need to play to ensure our overall success is no easy feat.”
“Wendy is a truly inspirational leader who continuously leads from her heart supporting all members of our team to deliver their very best work with the utmost integrity and professionalism. Every day we are inspired to show up in this way, because every day we witness our leader doing the same.”
Judith Marecek received her award for Excellence in Teamwork.
“Judith handles an exceptional workload in a confident and calm manner. She is an exemplary role model who displays leadership behaviours which engage students and which support the University’s values and aspirations. She is reliable, professional, highly respected by students, University of Auckland staff members and the wider business community.”
“Judith’s dedication to all things Velocity and the strong team she has built around her is a testament to the success of the programme.”
The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship are immensely proud of the achievements of Wendy and Judith.
