Blog: Ideate! Validate! 2017

Ideate! Validate! is a programme delivered by the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Gain insight into the benefits of participating in Ideate! Validate! from participant and international student Lindy Maizambu Anthon who is from Papua New Guinea.

My name is Lindy Maizambu Anthon and I am an international student from Papua New Guinea. I signed up for the Ideate!Validate! 2017 programme mainly because I wanted to learn what entrepreneurship is all about. I was especially interested in ideation and how to use market validation to really identify the pain points.

In May 2017 I was selected in the top 40 innovative entrepreneurs, from more than 600 applicants all over the Pacific Island nations, who wanted to be part of the 2017 cohort of Kumul GameChangers (KGC).

KGC is Papua New Guinea’s leading entrepreneurship programme, identifying startup founders and entrepreneurs with startup business ideas that are innovative and scalable to address some of the country’s most pressing challenges.

The inaugural KGC programme in 2015 unleashed a cadre of extraordinary innovative Papua New Guinean entrepreneurs who have transformed their futures and are scaling impact and in the process inspiring their peers to follow suit.

After successfully completing the Ideate!Validate! 2017 program, I can confidently say that I am well prepared to go through the KGC program when I return to Papua New Guinea.

I have found potential co-founders and team players through the course and we are progressing very well with our idea. Our plan is to take this idea overseas, especially through the Kumul GameChangers program.

I believe I have the qualities to change my community and the world through entrepreneurship, impacting the lives of thousands, and become a game changer. With training, personal and professional development, mentoring and the support that comes from being a part of a community of game changers. On top of that, I am part of the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship ecosystem.

My future is looking very promising and I am excited! Thank you CIE, and Ideate!Validate! 2017. You have transformed my life to be a game changer!
