Campus Calling – CIE welcomes students back to campus

CIE is welcoming students back to campus with a week-long programme of events as part of the University’s Campus Calling festival. 

We welcome students and staff of all faculties of the University of Auckland to come to Unleash Space to celebrate returning to campus. Come check out our space and learn about our range of programmes to see how we can help you unleash your potential through our free innovation and entrepreneurship development opportunities.

Monday 2 May

Spin the Wheel!
Stop by Unleash Space to check out the amazing free resources we have on offer and Spin the Wheel for a spot prize with tote bags, travel cutlery sets, notebooks and more on offer.

Maker Club workshop – Tie Dye T-shirts
2-4pm
Join a 2-hour workshop hosted by the University’s Maker Club in the Unleash Space Maker Space, with a free t-shirt and dyes provided!

Complete equipment training to gain free access to maker space equipment (3D printers, laser cutter, soldering station, sewing station, vinyl cutter, and CNC router) for use on your own projects. Learn more about the equipment training process

Tuesday 3 May

Fireside chat with pizza and robot races
12-1pm
Lunch is on us! Have pizza with some of the team at the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and have your questions about innovation and entrepreneurship answered. You’ll also have a chance to race our Makey Makey Robots. The fastest time wins a $100 Countdown voucher! 

Creative Inspiration and Design Workshop
2-3:30pm
Coming up with an idea or deciding on what to make is a common problem for everyone. Many of us may even believe we are not very creative. In this workshop, you will be guided by the Maker Space team through a series of short and fun activities to help you redefine your own creative capacity and explore your potential for making.

Innovation Ignited: Innovation Challenge Workshop

Find out everything you need to know to enter the Velocity Innovation Challenge. From tips about the competition platform to details on what the judges look for in a good entry – all will be revealed. There will be an ideation session to help you brainstorm an idea for your entry, and the opportunity to ask your questions to the Velocity team.

Create your own custom t-shirt using your design skills, our vinyl cutter and iron-on vinyl. White t-shirt provided or bring your own. Hosted by our team of Creative Technologists.
