Christmas ornament workshops for University of Auckland staff

Get into the festive spirit! The Business School’s Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) warmly invites University of Auckland staff to join a 90-minute workshop to craft unique Christmas ornaments for your loved ones. With guidance from our skilled Creative Technologists, you’ll have the chance to personalise one of our ornament designs using the laser cutter, adding your friends’ or whānau’s names or initials. After that, unleash your creativity by decorating your ornaments with paint and ribbon. No prior experience is necessary – this beginner-friendly workshop is open to all UoA staff!

For those who may not celebrate Christmas, we’ve also got Jewellery Workshops, where you can choose from a selection of premade designs to create your own personalised accessories. There’s something for everyone, so feel free to join in and craft something special!

Date: 25 sessions running Thursday 21 November – Friday 10 December
(20 Christmas ornaments workshops and 5 Jewellery Workshops)
Venue: Unleash Space (located in the Engineering Building, go through 20 Symonds St entrance and hang left)

If you’ve never been to Unleash Space, the University of Auckland’s state-of-the-art innovation hub and maker space, now is your opportunity to get to know this amazing facility that is free for all current students and staff of the University of Auckland. 

The Christmas ornament workshops are free, however staff are invited to donate canned goods to Auckland City Mission. You can leave your donation beneath the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship’s living Christmas tree, which has been kindly donated by the University’s Grounds and Precinct staff. At the end of the year, the tree will be returned to the University’s nursery to be cared for until next Christmas.
